Rachael Penton is an anchor, reporter, and meteorologist with nearly a decade of experience in newsrooms across the country. Rachael has earned the designation of "Certified Broadcast Meteorologist" from the American Meteorological Society, the highest honor in the field. Rachael earned a B.S. in meteorology from the University of South Alabama and an M.S. in geoscience from Mississippi State University. In 2017 Rachael took a 5,700-mile road from Alaska to work at WSYX in Columbus, Ohio as a meteorologist and reporter, before rejoining KALB in 2019. Rachael is a native of Mobile, Alabama but now has roots in Cenla after marrying a central Louisiana native. When she's not working, she loves planning trips and traveling internationally, reading, hiking, and cycling.
